Penny Plate, Inc.

The Buff family and all the members of the Penny Pate team take great pride in saluting the members of the Aluminum Foil Container Manufacturers Association on the occasion of the organization’s 50th anniversary. George Buff, Jr. was one of the founding fathers of this industry association and the Buff family has been active in AFCMA since its inception in 1955.

In 1948, Mr. Buff led the groundbreaking experiments that created the foil formed container, giving Americans the first-ever truly disposable pie pan. The success of the pie pan subsequently led to the development of a full product line to meet our customers’ emerging needs. This full product offering continues today as Penny Plate strives to provide innovative and contemporary packaging solutions for our customers. Together we service a broad range of food oriented end use markets which touch the lives of countless people.

Continuing our proud traditions, Penny Plate today remains a privately held, family-run business. George Buff III and Jon Charles Buff have maintained and increased the business started by their father. The company has continued its growth and is the largest independently owned manufacturer of aluminum food containers in North America.

We are justifiably proud of our historic role in the founding of the industry as well as the formation of Aluminum Foil Container Manufacturer Association.

Our company has always been and will always remain committed to our customers by providing the highest quality products backed up with firm dedication to outstanding customer service.
