CM Packaging
CM Packaging and Chicago Metallic have partnered with the baking, food processor, and foodservice industries since their inceptions. Founded over 100 years ago in Chicago, the headquarters and plant facilities were relocated in 1958 to a 34-acre site in northwest suburban Lake Zurich, Illinois. Additional plants and warehouses are in Central Islip, New York; Miami, Florida; City of Industry, California; Humboldt, Tennessee; and Gladwin, Michigan.
Alcan acquired the Company in 1969 and this was followed by a leveraged buyout in division in 1975 guided by Geoffrey C. Fear and foil division officers. Subsequent acquisitions occurred in 1978 with Cardinal Container, 1989 with Progressive Aluminum, 1996 with Ecko/Glaco, and 2005 with Packaging Direct.
